CinemaCon has grown into one of the largest gatherings of theater owners, exhibitors, and Hollywood Studios in recent years.  The conference is also widely regarded as a testing ground, providing moviegoers and theater owners with a glance of how the cinematic landscape will appear for tentpole movies in the future years.  And, when a new era begins at DC Studios this year with James Gunn's Superman, ushering in a new timeline in the hero's journey, a slew of new marketing materials and promo imagery are released to establish the tone.

The new promo art, submitted by a user on X, shows David Corenswet's Superman in the famous soaring posture that fans of the character are familiar with.  Superman's attire and coloring are bright and vibrant, reminiscent of the earlier teaser video, which showed glimpses of the character's wholesome side.  Warner Bros. Discovery has had a prominent presence at the conference, most notably presenting the first-ever showing of Andy Muschietti's The Flash at CineamCon in 2023.  And it appears that CinemaCon will be the launch pad for the last son of Krypton's hype machine, with other promotional materials featuring the new Superman logo and font also being made available online.

One promotional image, with the tagline "Look Up," shows Superman striking a fist in the region as he lifts off.  Another image depicts crystals that mirror those seen in the Fortress of Solitude.  Most of the marketing up to this point has felt eerily similar to the Richard Donner-directed version of the hero, which may alienate some fans who prefer the grittier version of the character played by Henry Cavill.

Superman is expected to have a big presence at CinemaCon.

Aside from the recently revealed images, Superman is likely to have a significant presence at CinemaCon in other ways.  In a video published at the same time last year during the convention, Gunn vowed that the cast would be in attendance this year to kick off what he dubbed the "summer of Superman."  Given that the first trailer for the film was released three months ago, many have hypothesized that a new trailer will be unveiled during CinemaCon.

There have also been reports of test screenings for the picture, which suggests that there will be a lot more to see at CinemaCon this week.  Furthermore, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is presently in development, with shooting scheduled to continue until May of this year.  Overall, it's a major year for the House of El, which means a lot is riding on Gunn's version of Superman to succeed, since there are numerous other projects in the works that will continue to expand the new DC Universe.

More information regarding the impending Superman picture is expected on Tuesday, April 1, when Warner Bros. will discuss their upcoming projects at CinemaCon. For the time being, this new concept art offers much to pique the interest of fans, particularly those who enjoy the lighter tone of prior editions.
