Apple will thankfully lower its focus on AI for iOS 19.

Most Apple consumers agree on one thing about the iPhone 16 launch: Apple Intelligence has been a public relations nightmare for the firm.  Thankfully, it appears that Apple is focusing less on its suite of AI features for the upcoming iOS 19 update.

According to industry insider Mark Gurman, Apple will focus less on introducing new AI features to the iPhone with the release of iOS 19.  Instead, Apple will strive to expand existing AI functionality to other apps and services.  This is in addition to the features needing to be overhauled so that they can compete with alternative offerings.

Apple also needed to stop attempting to jam in new features, as it was plainly not fooling anyone.  The corporation is severely behind in the field of AI and is attempting to catch up.  Apple Intelligence notification summaries are broken, picture editing features are years behind Gemini, and personal Siri is consistently slow.

According to sources, Apple is considering ditching the entire AI initiative and starting from scratch, maybe with the help of Google.  But there is one more significant thing to consider.

However, most consumers are uninterested in AI.  It may seem fine in marketing materials and sound great at shareholder meetings, but most end users aren't very interested.  To them, this appears to be yet another passing craze.  Instead of focusing so much effort on AI, iPhone owners are taking to social media to push Apple to fix current iOS issues.

In my opinion, Apple hopped on the AI bandwagon to avoid missing out on the next great trend.  However, that has never been Apple's core mission.  Apple is always late with most technological advancements because it prefers to do things its own way.

Apple Intelligence is a jumbled collection of half-baked AI features that do not work even when people want to utilize them.  Focusing on other, more critical issues before returning to AI is unquestionably the right decision.
