1. In a survey of 50 people in the community, it was found that the ratio of people who like tea only to those who like coffee only 2:3. Out of which 30% of people liked both and 10% of people did not like both
a) If T and C denote the number of people who like tea and coffee
respectively, what does n(T U C) denote?
b) Represent the above information in a Venn diagram.
c) Find the number of students who like exactly one item.
d) Find the ratio of several people who like both items to those who do not like both items.


2. A sum of money amounts to Rs. 12,100 and 13,310 in 2 years and 3 years respectively at a certain rate of interest compounded -annually.

a) Write down the relation among P, T, R, and CI if the quarterly compound interest on a sum P in T years at R% pa. is CI respectively. 

b) What should be the rate of compound interest and principal? 

c) What should the rate of interest be increased to receive the same amount in two years according to simple interest? [1] 


3. Dilasha bought a car which cost Rs. 50,00,000. The value of a car depreciates by 10% every year.

a) If 'P' is the initial price of the car, 'R' is the rate of depreciation and
"T' be time and what does 'P-P(1-) denote for? [1]

b) What should be the price of a car after 1 year? [1]


5. The volume of a square-based pyramid is 960cm3 and the length of its base is 24cm then
a) Find the height of the pyramid.

b) Find the slant height of the pyramid.

c) What will be the cost of coloring triangular surfaces at Rs. 3 per 2cm? Calculate.

6. The inner length, breadth, and height of a rectangular tank made for drinking water by two families is 6 m. 3 m and 2 m respectively.

a) What is the total cost of coloring the inner four walls of the tank at the rate of Rs. 100 per 3 square meters? Calculate. [3] b) If three families pay equal amounts for consuming water from a full tank, how much will one family have to pay at the rate of 50 paise per liter? 


7. A solid consists of a cylinder and cone. The height of the solid is 39cm, height and radius of the cylinder are 27cm and 3.5cm respectively.

a) Find the height of the cone. [1] 

b) What is the slant height of the cone? [1]
